The flight from Mallorca to Nuremberg was originally supposed to take a little over two hours.

Ultimately, however, the vacationers were on the road for almost eight hours.

Nuremberg – After a holiday in Mallorca, you probably don't want to go through an eight-hour journey home.

But that's exactly what some vacationers and Frankfurt fans who took the detour via Mallorca on their return journey from Seville for price reasons had to endure on May 19th.

The reason: the sometimes violent storms that have passed over Bavaria and Nuremberg in the past few days.

Severe weather in Bavaria: flight with a massive delay

At 7:35 p.m., the Ryanair flight took off from Mallorca.

At 9:45 p.m., two hours and ten minutes later, he was supposed to drop off vacationers, Frankfurt fans and a few Spaniards at Nuremberg Airport, reports the

Mallorca Zeitung

.

But it didn't come to that, as a vacationer reported to the newspaper.

Shortly before Nuremberg, the storm over Bavaria could already be seen from the window of the plane, and she was also able to make out lightning.

It got pretty shaky on the plane and the pilot decided to fly back up.

A second attempt to land was also unsuccessful.

So it was decided to fly to the airport in Stuttgart.

The plane also landed there at 10:20 p.m., and the travelers were told that they would be leaving for Nuremberg that same night.

But this did not happen.

However, since there is a ban on night flights from 11 p.m., it was no longer possible to refuel in time, reports the

Mallorca Zeitung

, citing the reports of a holidaymaker.

Everyone had to get out.

At 11:15 p.m., the passengers stood disoriented in front of the airport in Stuttgart, and there was no food from Ryanair.

Two buses should then appear at midnight and take the air travelers via the autobahn to Nuremberg.

The buses appeared - at 00.30.

Three hours later, just under eight hours after the departure of the flight from Mallorca, the exhausted vacationers arrived in Nuremberg.

At half past three in the morning and in great need of rest.
