Al-Hasakah-SANA
The dust storm that hit al-Hasakah governorate yesterday caused the collapse of 12 electric tension towers on the 66 kV tension line feeding the eastern countryside of the governorate.
A source in the General Electricity Company of Hasakah indicated in a statement to SANA reporter that the 66 kV line.
It connects the Ghazl and Mazraa stations in the town of al-Hol, east of Hasaka, explaining that most of the towers were previously robbed of angles and beams, which created weaknesses in the tower and consequently its collapse as soon as it was exposed to strong winds.
The source indicated that the technical workshops of the Electricity Company were revealed on the line this morning.
The storm that hit Al-Hasakah Governorate on the 16th of this month caused the collapse of a tension tower in Khirbet Al-Tamr, southwest of Al-Hasakah, and it was repaired and returned to service, while the workshops are still working on repairing four other towers in the southern and northeastern countryside.
