The incident comes after a federal judge barred the Joe Biden administration from ending Title 42, the policy that has restricted the right of migrants to seek asylum at the border.

The administration has said it plans to appeal the ruling, raising fears that the end of the Trump administration's policy to curb the pandemic will lead to an avalanche of migrants trying to enter the country to seek asylum.

Since 2019, there has been an increase in accidents and deaths of migrants attempting to jump the border wall in San Diego County.

While 67 accidents were reported between 2016 and 2019,

between 2019 and 2021 that number increased to 375,

NBC San Diego reported.

According to experts at the UC San Diego Medical Center, the height of the wall is one of the biggest contributors to the rise in migrant injuries and deaths at the border.

Most spans vary between 20 and 30 feet in height (6 and 10 meters).
