The Pakistani army announced the killing of two soldiers in an armed attack on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, northwest of the country.
The Xinhua news agency quoted the army as saying in a statement last night that "terrorists attacked a military post in (Mir Ali) in North Waziristan District, and killed two soldiers during a heavy exchange of fire."
Following the attack, Pakistani forces launched a sweep operation to eliminate terrorists in North Waziristan.
