Today, two people were injured when a tourist car collided with a vehicle belonging to the railways branch at the Abu Afsa junction, south of Tartous.
The director of the railways in the governorate, Dr. Mudar al-Araj, told SANA reporter that the accident occurred during the passage of a service crane belonging to the railways coming from the Simrian area to the city, coinciding with the illegal passage of a tourist car in the Abu Afsa area, which led to the injury of two of the three people who were inside with minor bruises and material damage. Pointing out that the injured were taken to Al-Basel Hospital before they were discharged.
Al-Araj stressed the need for citizens' awareness and commitment not to cross the railways designated for trains and the vehicles equipped to run on them in order to preserve their lives, and the necessity of adhering to the warnings and transit areas designated for citizens.
