Moscow intends to turn more to the East in the future

6.47 a.m .:

According to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, the West's "dictatorial position" towards Russia is accelerating the development of his country's economic relations with China.

Moscow will only rely on itself and on those states that "have proven their reliability," Lavrov said on Tuesday night, according to state agencies Ria and Tass.

The future of Russia therefore lies in the Eurasia region.

In addition to China, Lavrov also named India and Iran as important partners.

In his opinion, Russia should no longer rely on Western supplies.

Rather, Russia will "seriously consider" whether it needs to resume relations if the West offers something.

Zelenskyj urges support for prisoner exchange

6.41 a.m .:

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj asks allied states for more support for a prisoner exchange with Russia.

"It is important ... political pressure at every level, from powerful companies, from the closure of companies, oil embargo ... and through these threats, to actively promote the exchange of our people for Russian soldiers," Zelenskyy said in a video link to the World Economic Forum in Davos.

"We don't need the Russian soldiers, we only need ours." Ukraine is ready for an exchange tomorrow.
