In the name of a counter-terrorism order, America will try to weaken the terrorist organization by economic means • The US Treasury Department has announced that it will take action against figures affiliated with Hamas and six companies that help with the organization's cash flow

The U.S. Treasury Department has announced its intention to impose financial sanctions on Hamas-affiliated individuals and six companies operating in the Middle East and North America, and inject their profits into the terrorist organization by managing international investment portfolios. .

The sanctions against those executives and companies are based on a 13224 administrative order aimed at preventing terrorism and harming terrorists, officials of organizations and those who provide them with support.

The United States defined Hamas as a terrorist organization as early as 1997 and is now, in the name of the order, trying to economically weaken the organization and its affiliates.

Measures against those individuals and companies stem from the fear that Hamas is hiding and laundering its revenues through the same factors.

Hamas' investment ministry owns more than $ 500 million worth of assets in Sudan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Algeria and the United Arab Emirates.

While the Shura Council and the Board of Directors control the investment policy of the organization, the Ministry of Investment, on which sanctions have also been imposed, is responsible for the regular management of those investments.
