Schwabbruck wants to react quickly and inexpensively to the increasing need for kindergarten places.

For this purpose, the town hall and the vicarage are to be rebuilt.

The plans and a cost estimate have now been presented to the Schwabbruck municipal council.

In the future, there will be toys instead of files in the current town hall meeting room.

Schwabbruck – The Schwabbruck kindergarten urgently needs more space.

The demand is constantly growing.

Because, according to Mayor Norbert Essich, the municipality wants to react quickly but also cost-effectively, renovations to existing buildings are planned so that three groups and a crèche can be offered in the future.

Architect Robert Westermeier from the commissioned architectural office Manfred Ullmann and he himself presented the plans to the municipal council.

Where the committee was still meeting that evening, children should romp in the future.

"We're in the new kindergarten group," says Ullmann.

The plan is to convert the town hall for the kindergarten.

The mayor and the administration are to move into the current vicarage.

Access for the new kindergarten group is via the main door.

A cloakroom will be set up in the front area.

Care rooms are also planned.

There will be a connection to the existing kindergarten, which is adjacent to the town hall.

According to Ullmann, there are optimal opportunities in the town hall to modify unused rooms.

Although the district office still has to approve the change of use, one is very confident about that, after all there have been preliminary talks.

A fire protection inspection is still pending, but Ullmann does not expect any major additional measures.

According to optimistic planning by the architects, the submission should take place in August.

It is to be remodeled in winter so that the new kindergarten group can be used in the coming year.

And the advantage of a winter construction site: craftsmen would have more free capacity.

The new rooms should be ready in April 2023.

Since there is a long-term lease, the church must be asked for approval for larger projects.

Among other things, handrails and railings for the kindergarten and the windows must be made child-proof, according to the architect.

Radiators would have to be covered and several partition walls installed, Ullmann listed some of the tasks.

When it comes to sanitation, special children's toilets and washbasins are required.

A dumbwaiter up to the top floor is to be installed.

If necessary, another multi-purpose room could be set up there, Westermeier explained.

The library could be used as a care room, for example for lunch.

The conversion will cost a total of around 270,000 euros, explained Ullmann.

This is far below a new building.

“We will work down-to-earth.” Funding is also expected.

"Approximately half could come as funding," said Ullmann when asked by Hubert Waibel.

The council unanimously approved the project.

The conversion of the vicarage, into which the mayor and administration want to move, should take place at about the same time.

There is no cost estimate for this yet.

To the annoyance of the municipal councilors, not even for the heating system, which they would like to build to supply the kindergarten and vicarage.

It is being considered to build this in the area of the current wash house.

"The heating is a central point," Norbert Schreiber made clear at the most recent municipal council meeting.

He was annoyed that the specialist planner hadn't even stopped by.

Ullmann promised to take up the issue as soon as possible.

The plans for the heating, which were still very unclear, had already occupied the municipal councils in a previous meeting.

“There is a risk that we will spoil everything.

We need a definitive plan of what the heating should look like,” Hubert Waibel demanded.

It was also important for Silvia Richter to clarify whether the heating would be built separately or integrated.

And without knowing the costs, it is difficult to make a decision, according to the echo in the municipal council.

The rooms in the vicarage are okay, the construction work should be limited, says Westermeier.

A reception area will be set up at the front.

There is also an office for the mayor and a room for the archive.

Of course, a meeting room will also be set up in the vicarage.

However, according to Mayor Norbert Essich, it should also be used by other Schwabbrucker groups and clubs that need it for meetings or rehearsals.
