A new exceptional evening with Syrian voices, during which the leading opera art, the finest forms of classical music, appeared on the opera stage, adding to the magic of Damascus night sung by the Syrian National Symphony Orchestra.

Connoisseurs of this international art were on a date with a rich program for today’s evening in terms of high performance and selection of operatic compositions by major international composers of different musical eras, with the participation of the Syrian-Belgian baritone Nabil Suleiman, the soprano Rasha Abu Shukr and the tenor Aoun Maarouf, through which the singers presented their pieces as a solo performance with symphony, duets and their collection Concluding with a group of young singers.

At the beginning of the evening, while the band was playing its tunes, Maestro Misak Baghboudarian moved to play, a theater show that embodied her sung words in an opera scene accompanied him on the screen with Arabic translation of theatrical stories

The program included a group of selected songs from the World Classics Library, and with her young female operatic voice, soprano Rasha Abu Shaker performed the song “Lucía” from the Lucia de la Mermore opera, when silence fell on that dark night by Gaetano Donizetti, reflecting her ability to this difficult lyrical genre, captivating the audience with her voice and presence.

The evening continued with the bilateral operatic piece in harmony and harmony between Nabil Suleiman and Aoun Maarouf in “Pearl Hunters” inside this sacred temple.

Adorned with gold and roses by the composer Georges Bizet, and the presence of the veterans of Syrian opera singing, along with the young voices, added a special beauty to the evening, to increase the splendor of operatic music, as it presented scenes from the opera Rigoletto by the composer Jose Verdi, and the band chose the / the prelude of the opera, a song of ice / Rigoletto scene, Poor Rigoletto / Men The footnote/ And Gilda's scene/ And/ Rigoletto, Dad, all the festivities/ This or that Duke's song/.

The roles were played in the closing scene of the opera with the evening's promising talents, Julian Issa, Majd Jabr, Kinan Al-Barbour, Kinan Al-Halabi, Rafi Shalghin, Levon Abjian, Yazan Al-Jajah, Osama Khadija, Maysan Hassan, Aws Zina, Ali Halima and Ramah Shalghin.

Maestro Baghboudarian marched with the Syrian symphony towards harmonizing the rhythm of the musical work with the emotional states of the singers, which is the most prominent feature in the performance of orchestra works of such operatic art.

In a statement to SANA, he explained that the art of opera includes basic and auxiliary characters, as the singer steps in with simple characters to get used to the stage by performing his first experiences, and that the presence of senior professors this evening encouraged young students and graduates of the Higher Institute of Music to be given roles to gain deep experience in the art of opera.

A student of operatic singing at the Higher Institute of Music, Haneen Al-Halabi, indicated that despite the singing techniques they receive during their school years and some concerts in which they perform solo pieces, these collective evenings carry stories and interaction with the theater and provide an effective space for communication with singers who have reached the world. He expressed his happiness to participate with the National Symphony Orchestra, along with their teachers, with a new experience for him that added the experience of dealing with the integrated operatic theater in terms of singing, acting, controlling emotions and coordinating between them.
