The woman lives on the neighboring property of the fire brigade: and apparently felt so disturbed by the noise of the exercise that she took action.

Neuschönau - On Saturday (May 21), a training operation by the Neuschönau fire brigade in the Freyung-Grafenau district was obstructed by the deliberate disruptive maneuver of a neighbor of the fire brigade property - and this has now been reported by the mayor of Neuschönau.

Disturbed fire service: Ironically, during the traditional "sausage exercise"

It was the first joint exercise of the four Neuschönau municipal fire brigades after a long Corona break.

And it was an exercise followed by a meal together, which is organized from time to time: "We traditionally call it a sausage exercise," said the city's second mayor, Michael Segl, to the news portal of the

Neue Passauer Presse

.

Ironically, during this exercise, the training mission of the Neuschönau fire brigade was unexpectedly hindered, as

reported by

pnp.de.

A petrol-driven pump was set up on the cistern at the fire station, and the assumed fire object was about 400 meters away.

Segl reported to

pnp.de

that he had suddenly been informed by a fireman that there were problems with a hose.

"Hopefully nothing bad happened," he just thought.

Witness to what happened: Two attempts by the fire brigade to disrupt the incident

An observer of what was happening informed him and the fire brigade that neighbors of the fire brigade property felt disturbed by the noise of the exercise.

First, a man tried to drive a car onto the hose to stop the water, then a woman came and hit the hose with a kind of pickaxe until it was damaged, the witness said.

Mayor Segl has never experienced a similar willful disruption: "I've been with the fire brigade myself for well over 20 years.

Nothing like that has ever happened to me," Segl said

about the incident , according to

pnp.de.

He also added that he feared that this type of vandalism could turn into violence against firefighters if no response was shown.

The mayor is annoyed: Above all, about the lack of appreciation for community work

He therefore filed a complaint after he wanted to confront the residents accused by the witness on site, but did not find him.

With the ad, the mayor wanted to show a reaction: The damage caused by the incident was relatively small: the hole in the hose was near a coupling - so the hose could still be repaired, for 100 euros I guess Segel.

But the mayor is acting to prevent similar and more aggressive actions: "It's about the principle for me.

It cannot be that common property is intentionally destroyed,” he scolded on the phone, according

to

pnp.de.

And it cannot be that the voluntary work of the fire brigades is trampled underfoot.

He also thinks that anyone who lives next to a fire station should expect and accept that there will also be noise during training.

The district of Freyung-Grafenau was recently noticed by a case of bird flu.
