Daniela Ducato, from Cagliari, entrepreneur famous for her green innovations, is the new president in Italy of the international non-governmental organization for environmental protection.
As soon as she was elected, she told ANSA about her "surprise at seeing this great consensus of votes from all over the country".
"I found myself in something unexpected - she confesses - I accepted thanks to the presence in the National Council team of people with high skills and excellence".
The first thanks goes to Donatella Bianchi, head of WWF for eight years.
"Our commitment - she assures you - will be in the sign of the continuity of her work, a woman who is and will be an unparalleled guide".
The handover will take place in stages.
The official debut of Daniela Ducato, together with the outgoing president, is scheduled for tomorrow in Rome on the occasion of the inauguration of one of the projects of the association with Autostrade Italia, attended by the Minister of Culture Dario Franceschini.
On 2 June, Republic Day, a stop at the Quirinale with President Sergio Mattarella, who in 2015 made the Duchy Cavalier of the Republic for environmental merits.
Many other international awards, among which the best green innovator in Europe in the eco-friendly sector and the best Italian innovator for the American magazine Fortune stand out.
Since 2022 you have been president of the Italian Territory Foundation.
He does not hide his emotion for this new goal.
"More than ever, we need a 'green gaze', evolved, multiple, that starts from human biodiversity - she explains - Only in this way can we look at the abundance of nature, sometimes invisible or despised, with new eyes".
She rediscovers her green roots in the memories of childhood and youth.
"My biodiverse microworld begins with my father - she reveals her - with our feet inside the earth it was like feeling ourselves, like onions, roses, flowers".
