Bitter news for Grönemeyer fans: because of a corona infection, the musician canceled his tour without replacement.

The performance in Munich has also been cancelled.

Munich - It should have started on Thursday (May 26) in Hanover: Herbert Grönemeyer would have been on stage for the first time for his big open-air tour "20 Years of Man".

On June 8th he also wanted to stop at the Olympiahalle in Munich.

But instead of singing in front of thousands of fans, the cult musician has to stay at home.

A corona infection forces him into domestic isolation.

As two years of the pandemic have taught us, the virus can shatter any plan overnight - including Herbert Grönemeyer's.

"Despite all the precautionary measures, we were not spared from the virus," said his management on Wednesday (May 25).

Not only the singer himself, but also employees and band members were infected.

The consequence: the entire tour has been canceled without replacement.

Of course, the cancellation caused disappointment.

"We are very sorry," says the Grönemeyer management.

"Especially for all the people who wanted to come and for all the circumstances that it causes." Especially after two years, in which the rehearsals took place under the strictest isolation and endurance tests, it was now "extremely bitter and devastating".

Grönemeyer and his team felt a "mixture of sadness, anger and virus".

The Grönemeyer concert in June would have been a highlight for Munich.

But even if his performance is cancelled, dozens of other stars are coming to the state capital this summer - including greats like Lena, Die Toten Hosen and Robbie Williams.

It will be particularly spectacular on August 20th: on this day, Schlager star Helene Fischer will come to Munich to perform for the biggest show she has ever played.

Their concert on the open-air grounds of the Munich Exhibition Center will be the only appearance in the state capital on their tour of Germany.
