Rabbi Simcha HaCohen Kook, rabbi of the city of Rehovot and president of the Maor Talmud Yeshiva, passed away yesterday at the age of 92.



His funeral will take place today at 13:30 from the Maor Talmud Yeshiva toward the Rehovot Cemetery.



He worked on the Torah in his youth in the yeshivas of Bnei Akiva - Kfar Haroeh and Hebron in Jerusalem. Roads, with his wife and two sons.

Following the disaster, Rabbi Kook was called to fill his brother's place as rabbi of the city of Rehovot, to this day.



The nephew of the deceased, the Gaon Rabbi Ben Zion HaCohen Kook, one of the rabbis of Petah Tikva and the arbitrators of Jerusalem, paid tribute to him and said that "my eyes are watery.

It was our consolation.

We felt Dad was not dead.

He was a symbol of the rabbi in Israel, did not give himself rest in his struggle for the Torah of Israel, the rabbis of Israel and the yeshiva world.

"He was greatly appreciated by the teachers and Rabbi Posek of the generation, the late Rabbi Elyashiv. This is a great loss to the people of Israel."



Rishon LeZion, Chief Rabbi Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef, said that "I heard with great sorrow about the departure to the funeral home of an old rabbi of Israel, rabbi of Rehovot and former member of the Chief Rabbinical Council of Israel for decades, Rabbi Simcha HaCohen Kook, who led his congregation by hand. He stood and stood strong and fortified to fortify the walls of religion and to the right of the rabbinate throughout his glorious years of office.

The rabbinical world will miss one of its greatest defenders and the splendor of its crops.
