The main axes of the preservation plan came during an intensive two-day workshop in the production market in Aleppo, with the participation of a group of governmental and non-governmental agencies, artists, musicians, researchers, and those interested in the field of music and the art of Qudoud.

The workshop dealt with some general concepts and terminology that are used in UNESCO and shed light on the agreement signed in 2003, which is the compass and the path on which to work to preserve the elements of intangible heritage through listing and inventory.

The participants in the workshop set four main points that reflect the management mechanism of the Qodd conservation plan under the supervision of the Syrian Trust for Development, which focused on the transfer of knowledge and skill to Qodd, research, documentation, promotion and marketing of its cultural products, and the revival of cultural places associated with Qodd, especially in the old city of Aleppo.

The workshop focused on the importance of formal and informal transfer of experience and knowledge of the Qodd elements generation after generation, working on documentation, research, archiving of traditional music, recordings and songs, documenting oral information for its flags, marketing and promoting Qodd, strengthening its presence in official and cultural ceremonies, and reviving the associated cultural space.

In a statement to SANA's reporter, Reem Al-Ibrahim, from the Living Heritage Program at the Syrian Trust for Development, explained that based on the trust's interest and belief in the need for communities to participate in all activities and events concerned with their tangible and intangible cultural heritage, which is an essential part and component of their identity.

It worked, in cooperation with government agencies and the local community, to prepare a file for the nomination of Aleppo dams during 2018 and to continue working to support it after its inclusion in the list of UNESCO’s human heritage by preparing a plan for the preservation of these pods to be adhered to in cooperation with the local community and in a manner that reflects its desire to develop, preserve and preserve Aleppo cod.

The artist Anas Sabah Fakhri indicated that the workshop is important in confronting the ferocious attack to obliterate the Syrian cultural and urban identity with all its components, which has been preserved for several centuries, pointing out that Qudoud constitutes one of the most important faces of Aleppo, which contributed to the dissemination of its name, and it has an ancient origin stemming from the foundations of zawiyas, takiyas, and dhikr councils. The community hopes to reach a clear and consistent methodology to preserve these resources and to devote the idea of ​​sustainable development to them and to benefit from them.

For his part, the artist, Fares Ahmar, said: “We are looking today for how to protect and preserve the Aleppo Qudud for the next stage and keep it on the UNESCO list. The coming months will be called the Summer of Qadud 2022 to attract large segments of society and focus on the youth and youth in refining their talents in the field of Qadud and Muwashahat.

Singer Ahmed Khairy pointed out the importance of the axes that were identified in the workshop to preserve the Qudood, including finding the appropriate places to spread its heritage and the mechanism of action to transfer it to children and children in a scientific manner and to enhance their audio taste.

The artist, Safwan Abed, talked about his main role in the Aleppo Qudoud and the preservation of the authentic Tarab through his treatment of the Muashah and the Aleppo cod, which is a wonderful folk heritage, pointing to the importance of the workshop in laying the appropriate foundations to show the Aleppo Qudoud to the world, which is a message for generations to carry, spread, transmit and perform it correctly and musically. correct to prevent it from being blurred.

Abdel Halim Hariri, head of the Aleppo branch of the Syndicate of Artists, said: “The aim of the workshop is to understand the appropriate frameworks for developing a general plan to preserve the intangible heritage related to Aleppo slugs and to ensure their sustainability.”

Yaman Nassar, director of the Sabah Fakhri Institute for Singing and Music, said that his participation in the workshop is part of the institute's endeavor to bequeath and preserve the Aleppo Qudud for future generations.

Sheikh Ahmed Waisi, Director of Public Relations at the Directorate of Awqaf of Aleppo, indicated that participation in the workshop aims to preserve culture and heritage, as the Awqaf Directorate seeks to preserve this authentic Syrian heritage, whether in corners and takiyas or through singers and reciters.

Engineer Talal Khudair, head of the Chamber of Tourism in Aleppo, spoke about the Chamber’s interest in protecting and preserving the Syrian tangible and intangible heritage, as some handicrafts are encouraged, supported and preserved by the Kar sheikhs. .

Mona Tajo, representative of the Al-Adiyat Association in Aleppo, pointed out that heritage represents society, and today we must work to preserve the intangible heritage with its many axes of professions, social customs, singing and music.
