Malfunction with card payment: Apparently a specific card reader was affected

It is not yet entirely clear where the disruption is coming from.

The software provider Huth, which offers checkout systems for gas stations, wrote on its website, for example, that parts of a specific payment transaction were currently affected by a network disruption.

The manufacturer emphasized that this was not a fault in the Huth system, but in network operation: “The terminals cannot connect to the host.

Work is already underway to fix the problem."

According to Saarländischer Rundfunk, the fault is due to a specific device.

They attribute the problems to an error in the current software of the Verifone H5000 card reader.

According to the manufacturer, the card reader is the best-selling terminal in Germany.

So far, however, there has been no official statement from the manufacturer.
