The "Mitte Soundbar" in Nuremberg had to close in February due to violations of the Corona rules.

But now the club has reopened.

Nuremberg - At the beginning of the year, the "Mitte Soundbar" on Nuremberg's Hallplatz was closed and it initially looked like it was going to end for good.

But now a new operator has managed to reopen.

On May 20th, the summer season was celebrated in the “Mitte Soundbar 2.0”.

Withdrawal of license for the Mitte Soundbar in Nuremberg: Allegedly due to violations of Corona rules

In February 2022, the operation of the "Mitte Soundbar" came to an abrupt end after ten years: the Nuremberg regulatory office had withdrawn the license from the operator Lutz Morich.

The reason: In the "middle" it is said that the corona rules were disregarded during celebrations.

Morich defended himself against the allegations, but announced his withdrawal after a while.

The popular Nuremberg house and techno club was one of the many Corona club closures, also in Nuremberg.

"Mitte Soundbar" in Nuremberg: Former guest takes over the club

But last Friday (May 20th), only made public by short announcements on social media, celebrations resumed in the “Mitte Soundbar”.

"Kissed awake", it said on Instagram in the opening post: The old and the new owner played a DJ set together, reports

inFranken.de.

"I've often been a guest in the middle," said Latvian-born Alex Federov, who took over the club.

He comes from Riga, has lived in Nuremberg for eight years and already has many years of experience in gastronomy

.

"Music plays a very important role for me, as does the center for the city of Nuremberg," said Federov.

After the incidents, he now had the opportunity to take over the cult club – and used it.

The bar was heavily redesigned according to his ideas, little was left of the old inventory: "Now it's a kind of mid-2.0," says Federov.

New terrace of the "Mitte Soundbar": "For many people, the Mitte is something like their living room"

There will soon be operation outdoors as well.

At the moment, Federov is still waiting for approval for the new terrace.

In the future, it should be open from Wednesday to Saturday from 5 p.m., he informed

inFranken.de

.

The outdoor area is intended more for relaxing together than for dancing: "For many people, the center is something like you

Living room.

Outside they should be able to just sit around and chill, maybe have an Aperol”.

Of course, dancing is planned indoors, from

Thursday to Saturday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

As before, the club wants to focus on "good house, tech house and deep house".

Musically, continuity with the previous concept should be created: it is important to Federov that "the middle stays the middle".

And: “People are all happy to be able to dance again.

The middle was missing, everyone is happy," says the new club operator.

Satisfied with the reopening weekend, he is positive about the future.

"Everything is fine now," he said.

The club rush recorded in Bavaria after the long Corona break will probably continue to be noticeable this summer and will also ensure lively activity for the "Mitte Soundbar".
