Air travel: a generation Z steeped in contradictions

Born between 1998 and 2007, they aspire to travel in a more ecological way than their elders. However, they are flying more often and the price of the ticket is at the top of their concerns. Did you say paradoxical?


Ultra-connected, eager for unique experiences and attentive to the protection of the environment, they are at the same time misinformed, addicted to social networks and consume abundantly.

When it comes to studying Generation Z, it's hard not to be surprised at their contradictory behaviors.

These young people born between 1998 and 2007 represent 30% of the world population and 12% of the French population.

Aged 15 to 24, they are entering working life or will soon do so, and aspire to shake up the codes of travel.

But do they really have the means to match their ambitions?

The Pégase Chair, attached to the Montpellier Business School and dedicated to the air transport and aerospace industry, published a report on May 11 on Generation Z and the plane.
