Occupied Jerusalem - SANA

Two weeks after the assassination of Palestinian journalist Shireen Abu Aqleh at the hands of the Israeli occupation forces, evidence continues to condemn the occupation and confirm its responsibility for the crime. She was martyred as a result of which she was fired from an Israeli rifle and fired directly by the occupation forces.

The agency stated that multiple video clips and photos taken on the morning of May 11 show an Israeli convoy that was parked on a narrow road near Abu Aqila, where that convoy had a clear line of sight. The bullets fired from the side of the convoy.

The Associated Press said: The only confirmed presence of Palestinian gunmen was on the other side of the convoy, about 300 meters away from the place.

Or to indicate the location of the shooting, while Palestinian witnesses confirm that there were no resistance fighters in the area and no shooting took place until the volley of bullets that hit Abu Aqila, killing her as a martyr, and wounding another reporter.

Witnesses confirmed that they had no doubt that the Israeli occupation soldiers had assassinated Abu Aqila.

Associated Press reporters visited the site where Abu Aqila was killed, on the outskirts of Jenin refugee camp in the northern West Bank, as well as the scene of a nearby battle with Israeli forces captured in a video released by the Israeli occupation. The Israeli occupation forces were closer to Abu Aqleh and had a better and clearer field of view. The group specialized in geolocation of events in war zones by analyzing photos and videos posted online determined the location of the convoy on the narrow road where Abu Aqila was assassinated.

The correspondents who were accompanying Abu Aqila confirmed that when they arrived at the scene of the accident, the place was calm and there were no clashes, and there were no armed men in the surrounding area, noting that they headed for a long and narrow road that slopes from an open area to a group of concrete buildings where the convoy was. The Israeli occupation army was standing about two hundred meters away, and each reporter was wearing a helmet and a blue jacket with a press on it in large letters.

In turn, producer Ali al-Samudi, a colleague of Abu Aqila, told the Associated Press: We went out into the open so they could see us, as they didn't indicate that we had to leave, so we advanced slowly and walked forward about 20 meters.

Al-Samoudi added: The soldiers fired a warning shot, which made him bend and run backwards, and then the second bullet hit him in the back, while Abu Aqila was hit by a bullet in the head and it seems that she was killed instantly.

For her part, the local photographer, Shatha Hunaisha, said we saw the fire coming from the direction of the Israeli occupation army, and when Shirin, Ali and I tried to escape in search of a hiding place, we ran away from them.

While Sherif Azer, a local resident, who was on his way to work, confirmed that he heard the shooting and rushed to help, where he could be seen in another widely shared video, climbing the wall where Hanisha was hiding to help her escape. He confirmed that he saw the soldiers pointing their weapons, adding: We were shot more than once and every time someone got close they would shoot him.

The agency indicated that no armed men were seen in any of the videos that show the location of the journalists, while the Palestinian Ministry of Health says that no other Palestinians were killed or injured that day in Jenin, and the local media did not record any other Palestinian casualties.

The Associated Press pointed out that Israeli investigations often continue to shoot Palestinians for months or years before they are quietly shelved, and human rights groups assert that Israeli soldiers are rarely held accountable.
