With the aim of alleviating the burdens on citizens, providing comfort for students, activating civil work and community solidarity, drivers in the Sheikh Saad area, east of Tartous, launched an initiative to transport the 186 high school students who live in 5 villages in the mentioned region to the examination centers for free.
In statements to SANA reporter Ben Kifah Suleiman, head of the Sheikh Saad-Tartous Line Monitoring Authority, that the initiative, which started with four drivers 4 days ago, has become the number of drivers participating in it 16, after it was presented on social media, stressing the desire of all drivers working on this line to participate in the event called for. He pointed out that coordination will be made with the students to be present at certain points so that the drivers of the means of transport participating in the initiative will transport them according to the locations of the exam centers and then return to those who wish to their area of residence.
A number of drivers affirmed their keenness on the comfort of students and ensuring their access to the examination hall without delay, according to driver Saad Ali, who explained that the value of community work is one of the most important advantages of the Syrian people.
The driver, Ziad Dalloul, said: These students are the mainstay of the nation with their knowledge and our duty towards them requires us to secure all the means that guarantee their psychological and moral comfort in order to obtain important results in the exams.
Driver Mahmoud Hammoud found that the message of humanitarian work is much more important than the financial return, stressing that this initiative will reflect positively on the students and their families, as it will contribute to alleviating the financial burdens on parents and providing comfort to students to encourage the educational process.
Hossam Rostom, Secretary of the Sheikh Saad Division of the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party, pointed out that the idea stemmed from the request of the families of some students to secure transportation in advance to ensure that their children reach the exam centers without delay, so that the idea turns into a free initiative by drivers working on the Sheikh Saad-Tartous line.
