Pupils can now climb high at Gautinger Gymnasium: thanks to the support association, there is a climbing wall on campus.

Gauting

– The purchase of a bouldering wall for the children and young people in the schoolyard of the Otto-von-Taube-Gymnasium in Gauting was always an affair of the heart for Prof. Hans-Michael Krepold.

Director Sylke Wischnevsky recently recalled the voluntary commitment of the chairman of the support association, athlete and municipal council, who died unexpectedly in 2020.

Before his death, Krepold had collected donations for the climbing wall on the school campus.

His widow Dr.

Katja Ciolek-Krepold now handed over the bouldering wall, which the association had bought for 30,000 euros.

With a big thank you, director, senior teacher Maximilian Urlinger and teacher Ralf Mack from the sports department officially inaugurated the sports equipment, which is not only popular with mountaineers.

High school students Sophia Ludwig and Kubilay Uysal were part of the first climb.

The new bouldering wall comes just in time for the hands-on sports event "50 Years of the Munich Olympics" of the P-Seminar at the Otto-von-Taube-Gymnasium on July 5th.
