18-year-old Salvador Ramos turned chalk just a week ago • Posted photos of the weapon he bought for Instagram, before the massacre • According to the Washington Post, he was bullied at school because he had a speech impediment

Eighteen-year-old Salvador Ramos is the shooter in the horrific massacre in Texas, which took place yesterday (Tuesday).

Ramos was a high school student and worked at the Wendies hamburger chain.

He was born in South Dakota, but later moved to Yuvaldi, Texas, a mostly Hispanic city.

According to the Washington Post, Ramos was a victim of bullying at school because he had a speech impediment, and eventually dropped out of school.

Sometimes he would erupt aggressively at people.

He also had problems at home and his mother apparently suffered from drug addiction.

About a week ago, when he turned 18 and became a legal adult, the first thing Ramos did was buy a weapon, a local senator said.

He also uploaded photos of the guns he bought to Instagram.

The social network has removed his account since the incident.

Around 5:00 a.m., he reportedly texted someone on Instagram and told her, "I have a secret I want to tell you."

She asked him what the secret was, and he replied that he would reveal it to her before 11:00.

The shooting occurred around 11:30 a.m., and as far as is known he did not tell her of his intent.

According to the suspect, Ramos shot his grandmother before embarking on the killing spree.

She was evacuated to a hospital in San Antonio, and apparently survived the shooting.

For now, it is unclear if Ramos intended to carry out the shooting at the school, or if he happened to be there because of his hasty escape from the shooting scene at his grandmother.

According to reports, after escaping, Ramos crashed his car into a ditch on the side of the road in front of the school, put on a protective hat and went out with him and his weapon from his car into the school - where he fired.

Police from the Border Police who were nearby stormed the scene in an attempt to save the children, even before reinforcements arrived.

They managed to shoot him and kill him in the shooting, and they too were wounded, but there is no danger to their lives.

19 children and two adults were killed in the massacre.

It is the deadliest shooting incident in the Texas education system, and the second deadliest shooting incident in an entire elementary school in the United States, after Sandy Hawk in 2012. The worst murder Texas has ever known was in 2017, when a man murdered 26 people at a church in Sutherland Springs. The deadliest in all of U.S. history occurred in 2017 in Las Vegas, when a man fired at an audience at a music festival and murdered 58 people.
