Above all, the issue of traffic drives the people of Oberhaching.

This was evident at the citizens' meeting, which, after a two-year break, once again attracted around 100 people to the citizens' hall.

Oberhaching

- As Mayor Stefan Schelle (CSU) explained at the beginning, Corona has severely affected people's community life.

"Children and young people in particular, as well as the elderly, have suffered greatly, it is hard to imagine what traces this has left on the people." In his subsequent report on the current situation in the community, the school campus, the closure at the Sauerlacher construction site Street, new development plans for residential and commercial use as well as the energy transition are central points.

school campus

Schelle emphasized that the planned campus with a junior high school and FOS means an optimal supplement for the children and young people directly on site.

There were explicit specifications from the municipal council for the design of the area, which should not only fit into the environment, but should also be usable for citizens and clubs.

In the fall of this year, preliminary classes for the Realschule will start in pavilions that will be built in the area behind the elementary school next door.

construction projects

Regarding the complete closure of Sauerlacher Strasse, he said that it would be renovated and, above all, widened, for the safety of all road users, but also to be able to accommodate the additional bus traffic from the express buses.

In addition, a central bus stop and turning point will be built at the Deisenhofen S-Bahn station.

"The better local transport is upgraded, the more people we can convince to switch from cars to public transport," Schelle is convinced.

Nevertheless, it is still necessary to ensure that traffic can flow.

This related to the current review of an additional roundabout on the M11 near the Kugler Alm in order to relieve the traffic situation in the commercial area, especially since the commercial area was expanded and new companies will settle.

bicycle traffic

Oberhachinger Gerhard Jobst considered this planning to be "essential" and also suggested building the cycle expressway under the M11 as a safe crossing for cyclists.

"This makes it easier for employees to be persuaded to use their bikes to get to work." Schelle then reported that this is already being considered, but as a crossing, and is still being examined.

This topic also concerned Peter Spiegel, who, as a resident of Linienstraße, complained about what he called "combat eagles".

He wanted the cycle expressway on the east side of the S-Bahn so that the route would not be burdened.

The mayor explained that this side is too narrow and that there is also a compensation area where no construction is allowed.

Spiegel also raised the idea of a bicycle street, with Schelle explaining that this was discussed in a detailed report by the municipal council and ultimately rejected.

Siegfried Graf, head of Police Inspectorate 31, also said that bicycle streets tend to irritate road users and thus lead to more dangerous traffic situations.

safety for children

Ann-Marie Hollinger, who lives in the old community of Oberbiberg, would like more safety, especially for children on the streets.

In her opinion, a speed limit of 30 km/h when driving through Oberbiberg would be very positive.

The head of the town hall explained that a corresponding application had already been made to a higher authority, but had so far been rejected.

Regarding her idea of building a walkway at the Am Rain kindergarten, he said that this is currently being discussed in the committees.

parking spaces

Martin Rist suggested creating a larger parking lot for campers and trailers, also for rent.

Schelle said that every citizen is responsible for a parking space for their vehicles.

"The municipality certainly cannot and will not seal valuable land for such a purpose." He also pointed out that, for example, numerous garages are being repurposed for bicycles or garden tools, leaving less space for parking.

honor

Finally, there was strong applause for Monika Straub, who was honored by district administrator Christoph Göbel for her “many years of work in local self-government”.

Straub was a municipal councilor for 18 years and was active in various committees.

She is also known for her extensive voluntary commitment in various areas in the village.
