Dießen – Consistency is the great strength of the Dießen fire brigade with its currently 59 active Florians’ disciples and eleven young people who “are dying to be appointed firefighters soon”.

The 198 supporting, i.e. contribution-paying, members show how highly the fire brigade is valued by the population.

The election of the board of directors of the fire brigade association at the 154th general meeting brought no surprises except for a new name.

Daniel Christ remains the first chairman with only one abstention.

His deputy Dominik Wimmer was also re-elected, albeit for the last time: "After the next term of office, I will be actively involved for 18 years.

Then someone younger has to go!” Secretary Anja Bukoll and treasurer Daniela Wegele were confirmed.

Björn Fahs joined the board as shop steward.

Commander Florian König and his deputy Rüdiger Steffek were not up for election.

As König explained, there were 160 missions last year.

23 of them because of fires, 129 because of technical and other assistance.

There were eight false alarms.

With a total of 1,379 hours of service, the spectacular participation in fighting the full fire in the evangelical Christ Church in Utting stands out.

In addition to the fire service, there were 18 operations to support the market community and 26 for local associations.

Mayor Sandra Perzul especially thanked her for this as the “top employer”.

The pottery market would also not be possible without the active participation of the military in road safety.

So it's only honest that the fire brigade earns something for the club's coffers with their snack tent.

Despite corona-related adversities, the people from Diessen completed 6,611 hours of training and practice.

Added to this were 4,121 hours in and around the tool shed, car maintenance and in the areas of preventive fire protection, fire protection education and public relations: 12,111 hours voluntarily completed in the service of the general public.

There was applause from district fire inspector Alfons Düringer and district fire chief Josef Ender.

Looking to the future, Florian König addressed the space problems in the tool shed.

After a room concept had already been created, a planning office was commissioned to create a feasibility study for the realization of a conversion or new building.
