The pictures that can be seen in the Kiener Hall from Friday span more than half a century.

They form a small but characteristic cross-section of the life's work of the Brucker artist Guido Zingerl.

And it turns out that the drawings are as relevant today as they were when they were created.

Fürstenfeldbruck – The 89-year-old Guido Zingerl is known as a tireless admonisher and accuser who rebels against the injustice of the world in his caricatures, drawings and paintings.

The oldest of the 21 works is a drawing entitled Deformed Society.

It dates from 1968 but has lost none of its topicality.

The topic is the greed for profit of individuals, which is lived out on the backs of the masses.

"You could update the data for all images without anyone noticing," says Alexander Fink.

The chairman of the Hans Kiener Foundation is a friend of Guido Zingerl and suggested the exhibition.

In line with the "eternally young themes" that the artist processes in his works, it is entitled "The short memory of mankind".

Between the many black-and-white drawings and caricatures, three large-format color paintings in particular stand out, which are shown to their best advantage in the bright, airy hall.

Fink describes these correctly as “artistic hidden objects” in which one can always discover new details even after long and repeated viewing.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular FFB newsletter.)

"Peace does not come by itself" is the title of one of the pictures.

Zingerl painted it in 1982 under the impression of the first Lebanon War, the Falklands War and the NATO double-track decision.

Like a wedge, he lets a demonstration march between a gun-ridden nightmare world and the profiteers in the form of the armaments industry.

“Let us say what has been said a thousand times over and over again, so that it is not once said too little” – this quote from Bertold Brecht could be the motto of Zingerl's entire artistic statement.

It runs like a red thread through the exhibition.

The hall of the Hans-Kiener-Haus in the rear building at Münchner Straße 3 was converted by the foundation of the same name for use by social institutions.

The Brucker Tafel packed food bags here during the Corona lockdown.

The White Ring and the Dominikus-Ringeisen-Werk have their offices right next door.

The hall will also be available for social events.

Fink hopes that "life will come into being" in this corner of Münchner Strasse.
