President Yitzhak Herzog today (Wednesday) referred to the investigation into the killing of journalist Sheerin Abu Akala, about whom he said that no reference should be made to the investigation published so far.
"Do not rely on false facts," he told the World Economic Forum in Davos, "teach the facts, facts can be learned scientifically. Unfortunately, the Palestinians refused to cooperate."
Herzog referred to the killing of the journalist about whom he said that "this is of course a very unfortunate incident. I hurt him, many Israelis hurt him. The incident happened as part of an activity in the war on terror in Jenin, which resulted after the murder of so many Israelis."
He added, "What we have done, since we are a transparent state, which knows how to conduct a substantive investigation, and the rule of law in it is above all, we offered the Palestinians a joint investigation into the circumstances of this tragic case. Unfortunately, the Palestinians refused. They took the body, the bullet, and therefore None of the allegations can be verified. Israel was open and transparent, offering the United States to join the investigation process, because we attach great importance to the freedom of speech and work of journalists and the media and we respect them. There may be several scenarios. "When there were many false facts against Israel."
