Corona rules in Hesse: Bouffier announces further action

Prime Minister Volker Bouffier extends the current Corona Protection Ordinance.

The rules applicable in Hesse will therefore remain in place.

Wiesbaden – The Hessian state government extended the current Corona Protection Ordinance by a further four weeks on Tuesday (May 24).

This means that masks are still compulsory for nursing staff and on buses and trains.

And in hospitals, retirement and nursing homes, the obligation to test for staff and visitors remains.

“The number of new infections is falling continuously, and fewer and fewer people are currently being admitted to hospital due to severe illnesses.

(...) Looking ahead, we will continue to need the few basic protective measures that we still have in order not to endanger this trend," said the outgoing Prime Minister of Hesse, Volker Bouffier (CDU), as reported by fnp.de .

The state government is expecting more passengers on buses and trains in the near future, which is why it is still important to wear a mask in local public transport.

This serves to protect particularly vulnerable groups.

The regulation now applies until June 22nd.

People who are infected with the corona virus must continue to be in quarantine for five days.
