Ye Wenxing, a Singaporean sports and orthopaedic doctor with a Hong Kong registered medical license, was suspected of not arranging sick leave after diagnosing a patient with a fracture due to a work-related injury in March 2020, and misleading the patient to perform light work. The Disciplinary Tribunal found professional misconduct and at the time ruled to revoke his medical licence for eight months.

Since Ye Wenxing is also registered as a general practitioner in Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Medical Council today (25th) was arrested on the case of Ye Wenxing's medical professional immorality and the failure to report the results of the disciplinary hearing to the Hong Kong Medical Council immediately after the Singapore authorities made a ruling. He was fined 3 months suspension from trading in Hong Kong, suspended for 12 months and issued a letter of warning.

According to the case, on March 8, 2020, a foreign worker in Singapore accidentally fell from a platform two or three meters high and fractured his collarbone and ribs in multiple places. Ye Wenxing only provided the patient with two days of sick leave, and told him that he could continue to work lightly. .

Because of the related incident, Ye Wenxing was ruled by the Singapore Medical Council Disciplinary Tribunal for professional misconduct and violated the Medical Registration Act, and finally sentenced him to revoke his medical license for eight months.

At the hearing of the Hong Kong Medical Council today, Ye Wenxing, who is in Singapore, participated in the meeting via videoconference.

According to the relevant content provided by the Singapore Medical Council and the professional code of Hong Kong registered doctors, the Hong Kong Medical Council explained to Ye Wenxing the reasons for the complaint.

Ye Wenxing argued at the hearing that after the Singapore hearing had a ruling, he had consulted with different doctors, all of whom supported him on the grounds not to arrange sick leave for the patient, and even believed that "light" work would help recovery.

He did not understand why the Hong Kong Medical Council "again" charged him and sentenced him, and felt it was unfair.

Ye Wenxing belongs to the Register of Registered General Practitioners in Hong Kong.

Shun Bingsheng, the legal adviser of the Medical Council, explained to him many times that the hearing today is not of a re-examination nature or "reversal", but because he has a full medical registration license in Hong Kong, no matter whether he has seen medical treatment in Hong Kong or not, he needs to review his professional conduct Second, since he had already pleaded guilty in the Singapore trial and accepted the relevant ruling, the Hong Kong Medical Council filed a relevant complaint based on this fact.

After a hearing of about six hours, the Medical Council sentenced Ye Wenxing to a 3-month suspension from trading, a 12-month suspended sentence and a letter of warning.
