Today, the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Greek Chargé d'Affairs in Tehran to protest the seizure of an Iranian cargo ship in Greek territorial waters.
The head of the Mediterranean Department in the Iranian Foreign Ministry referred to "the international obligations of the Greek government due to the emergency stopping of the ship due to technical defects, indicating that surrendering to illegal American pressure is unacceptable and condemned."
He added: "The seizure of a ship flying the Iranian flag is evidence of international piracy, and the responsibility of the Greek government and those who seized it illegally lie."
He explained that Iran will not give up its legal rights and expects the Greek government to abide by its international obligations in the field of maritime navigation.
And the Iranian Maritime Navigation Corporation announced earlier today that Greece is seizing a merchant ship flying the Iranian flag and confiscating its cargo and arresting its crew.
