Deputy Prime Minister Abir Kara wrote a statement this morning (Wednesday) in an internal group of Shulmanim, in which he attacks Economics Committee Chairman Michael Bitton after the latter said today that he does not intend to vote with the coalition following the reforms in agriculture and public transport.

"Michael Bitton has decided to disband the coalition. I can understand him, he wants to prevent Lapid from becoming prime minister and if Blue and White dismantles the business, Lapid really will not be prime minister," Kara wrote to Shulman.

"The political calculations do not interest me, I am interested that the cost-of-living lobbyists who work against the public like Bitton will not win."

Kara continued: "This is about harming the weakest in society and the effects that are a real disaster on Israeli society and our war on the cost of living. Do not worry, the reforms will pass."

At the end of the announcement, Kara attacked Bitton and wrote: "There is no reason why Israel should not be able to buy cucumbers, tomatoes, cheese, chicken and fish at the supermarket because Michael Bitton is a lobbyist for a small group with a big interest."

Kara's WhatsApp message,

Kara's remarks come after Bitton's decision this morning in the economics committee that he would no longer vote with the coalition, except in a no - confidence vote.

Background: Disagreement that MK Bitton has with Transport Minister Merav Michaeli. Bitton set a deadline for his demands for public transportation reform - until this morning's discussion in the committee. Bitton said that if there is no solution or change by then, he will consider his steps in the plenum. Now really the threat.

Bitton closed the meeting and added: "As of today, all discussions in the Economics Committee and subcommittees are canceled and I will not vote with the coalition, except in no-confidence votes, which will not make it political.

Until then, I will not vote in the plenum, maybe later I will also vote against. "

A coalition source told Israel Today: "When you wink at Bibi all the time, it is no wonder that your Knesset members are doing what they want."

He said, "We see what Ganz is doing. The talk with the Likud and the ultra-Orthodox is not just. When you flirt and all the applause from the Likud (the vote on the" Dimensions for Studies "law; YS), it is no wonder that cases like Bitton happen.

Agriculture Minister Oded Forer commented on MK Bitton's remarks and wrote on the Facebook page: "The public should know what the demands of the Poultry Council are, which is why MK Michael Bitton has announced that he will stop voting with the coalition: "I will continue to work for more than 9 million citizens in Israel and not for a small lobby group and I expect my coalition members to follow the same path."

A senior blue-and-white source said: "Michaeli is called upon to return normal conduct to the coalition and the Knesset and to attend discussions in the Economics Committee while negotiating. "And they have proved it countless times. There is no concern for its stability."
