Lenggrieser nursing home: Three parts of the building offer space for 90 seniors

Lenggries – The Caritas Association of the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising and the municipality of Lenggries are looking forward to a new retirement home with around 90 places and short-term care.
Lenggries Mayor Stefan Klaffenbacher and Caritas Chairwoman Gabriele Stark-Angermeier recently signed the lease.
The diocesan Caritas Association rents the new building for the inpatient care facility for the elderly after its completion.
If construction can start at the end of 2022, the new building can probably be put into operation in spring 2025.
The planning application is expected to be submitted in May.
A complex with three connected buildings on Karwendelstraße with 44 parking spaces will be created.
The west building is 50 by 18 meters, the east building is slightly longer at 58 meters.
In between there is an almost eight meter wide connecting structure.
kContinuously high demand
"We are now looking forward to further constructive cooperation with the aim of creating a modern and attractive home for senior citizens in Lenggries," said Stark-Angermeier.
As reported, the need for inpatient care places in the region is high.
"Due to the demographic developments and the overall senior policy concept of the district, there will be a continuously high demand," emphasized Klaffenbacher.
The basis of the new senior citizens' facility is cost-saving and rapid planning.
"Because of the high construction costs, which have now increased due to the lack of raw materials, we agreed in constructive discussions on further planning with a reduced floor plan variant," reported Doris Schneider, manager of the 27 Caritas old people's homes in Munich and Upper Bavaria.
Cook and Chill Process
Therefore, the production kitchen had to be dispensed with.
However, this does not mean that future residents will have to do without good quality food.
In fact, a good third of all Caritas old people's homes are already being operated without their own kitchen.

"Hot lunches and dinners are delivered and prepared using the cook-and-chill method in small kitchens in the living areas.
"It tastes good and is much more familiar in the preparation and distribution," explains the Caritas old people's home manager.
The Lenggries nursing home, which the municipality is building and which Caritas is supposed to operate, offers space for 90 senior citizens.
As reported, the new building became necessary after the district nursing home, which had been in operation since the 1980s, could no longer be operated beyond 2026 for structural reasons.
The previous operator, the Wolfratshausen District Clinic, no longer wants to offer inpatient care for the elderly in the future.
After an application process, the Caritas Association of the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising was selected as the future operator of a new facility for the elderly with interspersed short-term care.
