The chairman of the Education Committee, MK Sharan Hashakel, has submitted a bill according to which teachers who support terrorist acts will be suspended or fired.

Hashekel also held several discussions on the subject, in which it demanded that the GSS produce a direct reporting mechanism to the Ministry of Education on teachers who constitute a concern or danger, and even demanded an immediate examination and dismissal of some teachers who expressed themselves radically on social media.

The bill, which also has the support of Justice Minister Gideon Saar, is expected to facilitate the suspension or dismissal of teachers suspected of committing or supporting acts of terrorism or incitement.

Today the procedure is cumbersome and complex.

The interesting question is whether the RAAM will support the bill, which is expected to challenge them from the right in the Arab sector, as this is a law from the coalition with the support of a new hope.

In the explanatory memorandum to the bill, the mind notes that "recently we have witnessed cases where terrorist attacks and terrorist acts are carried out by teaching staff now or in the past. Today, the possibility of suspending or firing a teaching staff is complicated and limited, and may take years."

The mind further adds in the proposal: "An employer will be required to suspend a teaching employee in the event that criminal proceedings are instituted against him on suspicion of committing a terrorist offense, and in addition - it will not be possible to employ someone convicted of the offense."

MK Sharan Hashakel: "It is forbidden for teachers praising terrorists and heinous murderers to engage in teaching in the State of Israel.

Beyond the fact that two of the terrorists in the recent terrorist attacks have been involved in teaching in the past, I have since been exposed to the committee's discussions for much content and public statements by teachers praising terrorist acts.

A student exposed to publications on the web by his educator, who supports terrorist attacks and terrorist attacks with blood on his hands and encourages hatred and murder of innocent people - how is that student supposed to grow into a life of coexistence and peace in the complex reality we live in with such a teacher?

"We must create deterrence, we must cut off this dangerous incitement, uproot hatred and violence. It all starts with education, so civilians who express support for terrorists and encourage terrorism can not be teachers in Israel and be a role model for their students. This is the future of the country."
