With words bearing the flavor and spirit of high-end music, and with his operatic baritone voice, the Syrian-Belgian singer Nabil Suleiman takes the audience to the joyful worlds of Western operas, with his special vocal abilities, which are enshrined by an international Syrian voice by his performance of the most ancient classical opera songs.

To see his experience, in an interview with SANA, Suleiman said: “The integrated operatic work requires years of work. It requires great effort and time, in addition to special abilities in singing, music, expressive dance and acting, as it combines more than one color of the arts.”

He pointed out that merging theater with singing is enough to introduce the audience in a simple way to the worlds of operatic music to be able to taste it in its smallest details, explaining that operatic art performs a classy message, as it deepens the feeling of both the actor and the viewer, as it takes the audience with a passion to discover the operatic theater.

Speaking about the theatrical performance that he presented in cooperation with the singers Rasha Abu Shukr and Aoun Maarouf on the last evening at the Opera Theater in Damascus, Suleiman praised the great efforts made by the singers and members of the National Symphony Orchestra led by Maestro Misak Baghboudrian, indicating that the Syrian audience has a high degree of culture. He is receptive and always ready to receive all that is new in the operatic scene.

He explained that opera in general needs to exchange experiences between the West and the East, as the lyrical technique differs from one country to another, which is a very important matter, stressing that Syria has always had passionate students and cadres with a desire for passionate work, research and openness to the other in all kinds of creativity.

He expressed his happiness for his continuous presence in his mother country with the National Symphony Orchestra, as he is always ready to provide support and assistance to develop operatic performance and raise it to levels comparable to international standards.

It is noteworthy that Nabil Suleiman is a graduate of the Higher Institute of Music and the Royal Institute in Brussels, and the winner of several international awards, including the second prize in the Toulouse International Opera Competition, and has many recordings with international stars.
