Petro, Gutiérrez and Fajardo will participate in the last Prisa Media electoral debate

The moment of truth is approaching in the Colombian presidential elections.

Next Sunday the polls will open for the first round and some 38 million voters will be able to begin to define the political future of the country.

The campaign has been very long but at this point, and according to the latest polls, there are still between 10 and 15% undecided that could determine the election for either side.

Prisa Media will hold a decisive electoral debate this Thursday, in what will be one of the last opportunities to publicly hear the candidates.

Gustavo Petro, Federico Gutiérrez and Sergio Fajardo will confront their proposals in the debate moderated by the journalist Roberto Pombo starting at seven in the morning (Colombian time).

The candidate Rodolfo Hernández, who had also accepted his participation in the meeting, announced this Tuesday through Twitter that he will not attend: “All these debate proposals have already been said in interviews, campaign messages and a lot of other debates to those that I already went, while Petro decided not to appear until now, when the polls show that he will no longer win.

Hernández is the candidate who has grown the most in recent polls, until approaching Federico

Gutiérrez, who according to the polls is still in second position behind Petro.

The left-wing leader Gustavo Petro has practically a guaranteed position in the second round which, in the event that no candidate exceeds 50% of the votes this Sunday, will be held on June 19.

The polls give him an intention to vote close to 40%.

Fico has barely managed to grow since the 25% support he achieved after the primaries that were held in March, in which he prevailed over his rivals and won the candidacy of the right-wing coalition.

Fajardo, the center's candidate, has never stood out in the polls and at this point he already seems to be out of the electoral race, which paves the way for the right-left ideological battle.
