Eight years ago, the Inselkammer family bought the old station building in Aying from Deutsche Bahn.
Now the long-established brewery family wants to breathe more life into the historic house.
In addition to a renovation, a kiosk and a trade are to move in here.
Aying
- The plans met with general approval in the Aying municipal council, although it initially rejected the application.
Aying's Mayor Peter Wagner (CSU) explains that there is still a lot of catching up to do when it comes to parking.
But he has received assurances from the committee that the administration can approve the application via the office if the necessary documents are available.
Renovate apartments and install photovoltaics
Ayings Bräu Franz Inselkammer informed the Munich Merkur that the historic building was simply getting on in years.
Especially since the house paint is not particularly nice in his opinion.
He even speaks of "horrible".
That's why work is to be done on the building: "We now want to renovate it, upgrade it energetically and with a photovoltaic system and heat pump and prepare the three apartments there," explains the brewery manager.
Furthermore, a kiosk, "which is of course ideal in the vicinity of the S-Bahn," and another small commercial unit are to be accommodated on the ground floor.
Mayor enthusiastic about kiosk idea
Mayor Wagner especially likes the kiosk: "It should be an asset there, after all, users of the S-Bahn or hikers could stock up on little things." He is confident that the application for energy modernization and change of use in the area of the former station ticket hall can soon be positively completed.
n Inselkammer emphasizes that the family is still open to interested parties for the planned use.
If nothing unexpected comes up, the construction work should be completed by autumn.
120 years old
The station building is not a listed building, but the stately building is 120 years old.
The Inselkammer family acquired it in 2014.
It definitely plays a role in the history of the Inselkammers.
When the railway line was being built in April 1902, the brewer Johann Liebhard recognized early on that passengers arriving or waiting for the train also wanted to be fed.
As early as 1901, he applied for permission to set up a "restoration", i.e. an inn, at the terminal station, not far from the station building.
