Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed that joint action between Russia and Africa enhances security and stability in the world.
Russia Today website quoted Putin as saying in a congratulatory message to the heads of state and government of the African continent on the occasion of Africa Day: "Russia has always attached special importance to developing friendly relations with African partners... By working together, we will be able to ensure security all over the world."
Putin expressed his confidence in the development and implementation of many promising projects and initiatives in various fields in the interest of states and peoples and in the interest of strengthening security and stability in Africa and the world.
Russia continues to strengthen its relations with African countries, as a Russia-Africa summit was held in Sochi in 2019, during which it was agreed to expand fruitful cooperation at the bilateral level and on a multilateral basis to serve the interests of both sides.
