The chairman of the Post-Primary Teachers 'Association joins Lipa Ben-David, Secretary General of the Teachers' Union, and calls on the organization's members to come to the demonstration this coming Monday. • Calls on Prime Minister Bennett:

Teachers' organizations will unite against the Ministry of Education and Finance:

In a rare move today (Wednesday), the chairman of the teachers' union, Ran Erez, calls on post-primary teachers (high schools) to join a demonstration by the Teachers' Union led by Yaffa Ben David, representing kindergarten teachers It should be noted that these are usually two rival organizations, which have even waged a struggle for the representation of teachers in middle schools.

In a statement to high school teachers, Erez wrote: "On this occasion I would like to support our friends and colleagues in the profession - primary school teachers, who, like us, are forced to fight for their right to earn a decent living. "In order to express support and sympathy for their just struggle."

Erez's words are not said in a vacuum - he also declared a labor dispute with the Ministry of Education and announced that the teachers would disrupt the studies, including giving grades to students and severing contact with the Ministry of Education.

Ran Erez has two motives: first, his opposition to Education Minister Yifat Shasha Bitton's program regarding the matriculation exams in the humanities, according to which the external matriculation exams in history, literature, citizenship and the Bible will be canceled, and students will submit work that includes the four topics. In teachers and students.

The second motive is the negotiations on a wage agreement with the teachers 'organization, which is currently stuck and it is doubtful whether it will proceed as long as the negotiations with the teachers' union do not end.

Ran Erez also wrote to teachers: "As I informed you, even though the collective agreement has expired, the Ministries of Education and Finance are not negotiating with us towards signing a new wage agreement, and are acting as the education system in general, and Israeli teachers in particular, at the bottom.

"Therefore, and with no choice but to refute our requests and not negotiate with us, we had to declare a labor dispute that would lead to a change of direction among the Ministries of Finance and Education, the insulting and blatant inaction to convene real collective bargaining, and signing a proper wage agreement for Israeli teachers."

In response, the national parent leadership published its position that "harming special education children is not acceptable for any struggle - justified as it may be. Special education children study in special settings, and not in vain: they are unable to cope with change, and need their regular routine and sequence. "This could lead to regressions, outbursts and other difficulties that further thought can prevent. Special education frameworks should be excluded from shortening the school day for a demonstration."
