21 people are killed in a shooting spree in the United States.

Just a few days later, Donald Trump wants to declare his “love” for guns.

Houston – Just days after the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, former President Donald Trump will address a National Rifle Association (NRA) event in Houston.

Houston is approximately 450 kilometers from Uvalde.

In the massacre in Uvalde, a young man killed at least 19 school children and two teachers.

Before that, he shot his own grandmother.

Little is known about the perpetrator, who was shot dead by the police.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott identified the attacker as 18-year-old Salvador Ramos, who himself lived in the small town of Uvalde west of San Antonio.

A photo distributed by US media shows a young man with brown hair looking blankly at the camera.

Before the school bloodbath, Ramos shot his grandmother, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

He then fled their apartment and fled in a car.

He drove into a ditch near Robb Elementary School.

He got out and went to the school.

Police officers tried in vain to prevent him from entering the building.

At around 11:30 a.m. local time (6:30 p.m. CEST), Ramos entered the school and opened fire in several classrooms before being shot dead by police officers.

Governor Abbott spoke of a terrible and "incomprehensible" act.

NRA holds event after shooting: 'Freedom and Firearms'

This coming Friday (May 27), former President Donald Trump will address the NRA's annual general meeting for the sixth time.

In doing so, he will probably again declare his "love" for the organization - as he has done before.

The NRA noted that the exhibition hall "will showcase over 14 acres of the latest weapons and equipment from the industry's favorite companies."

“From entertainment to special events, Houston has it all over Memorial Day weekend.

Make plans now to join other Second Amendment patriots for a weekend of freedom for the whole family as we celebrate liberty, firearms and the Second Amendment,” the NRA said.
