On May 24, an 18-year-old killed 21 people in a shooting spree at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas.
What is known so far about the perpetrator and his motives.
Uvalde – 21 people were killed in a shooting spree at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas.
18-year-old Salvador R. opened fire at the school on Tuesday, May 24.
As it became known later in the day, the young man first shot his grandmother, then drove to the school and shot himself with two AR-15 rifles.
His grandmother is in the hospital.
Her condition appears to be critical.
Salvador R. was also killed by police shots.
After the shots at his grandmother, Salvador R. apparently got into his car and drove off.
He drove into a ditch near Robb Elementary School, got out of the car and walked to school.
Police officers could not prevent him from entering the building.
The United States mourn - and are looking for explanations for the terrible act.
The police are now trying to get "detailed background information" about the young man.
So far, his motives are still unknown.

She herself publishes the chat history and regrets not having prevented the killing.

The minor asked and only got the answer: "I have a little secret".
