The Likud decided to grant freedom of vote on a bill by MK Yurai Lahav Herzno Mish Atid, which will oblige all businesses in Israel to charge for disposable bags - Walla learned today (Sunday)!

The proposal will go up for a preliminary reading later today.

Shas chairman Aryeh Deri addressed opposition leader Netanyahu and Likud faction chairman Yariv Levin, clarifying: If the Likud decides to do justice to itself, the ultra-Orthodox parties are also allowed to do justice to themselves.

Giving freedom of vote on the bad law of raising the bags means dismantling the right-wing bloc.

Following this, MKs in the ultra-Orthodox parties claimed that this was an injury to the weaker sections, and announced that if the decision was not changed, they would vote in the following votes at their discretion.

"It is impossible for the Likud to make fun of us every two days," the ultra-Orthodox parties said.

MKs Bezalel Smutrich, Yaakov Asher and Uri Maklev spoke in the plenum with MK Yoav Kish and protested to him about the decision: "This is an injury to us, stop behaving like this."

MK Israel Eichler of Torah Judaism said that raising the prices of bags several times over, is a serious blow to the poor and families with children.

"It's done as part of the global terrorism of the environmental religion," Eichler said.

"Let it be clear - if the Likud is given the freedom to vote on raising the prices of the bags, members of Torah Judaism will consider it an official approval to vote on any law that will be passed in the Knesset according to substantive discretion and not according to Likud directives."

Opposition factions planned to issue a joint statement of support for Smutrich's law against the return of terrorist bodies.

The move was halted due to opposition from Torah Judaism chairman MK Moshe Gafni, who claimed he had "problems with it within the faction."

To the accusations of the ultra-Orthodox Knesset members about the Likud is also added the anger following the Likud's conduct in the "Dimensions for Studies" storm.

Torah Judaism and Shas preferred not to support the law because of opposition to the government, but were forced to align with opposition leader Benjamin Netanyahu.

Afterwards, senior officials from both parties conveyed messages to Netanyahu's bureau that they would no longer accept with understanding the party's collaborations with the coalition, in legislation without discussion and prior mutual consent.
