The Electrical and Mechanical Services Department announced today (25th) that three types of storage-type electric water heaters and six types of refrigerators have been removed from the list of listed models under the Energy Efficiency (Product Labelling) Ordinance and will not be available in Hong Kong with immediate effect. .

According to the EMSD, the EMSD implements a mandatory energy efficiency labelling scheme in accordance with the Ordinance, and regularly selects the listed models for energy performance monitoring tests to check whether the products meet the energy efficiency and functional performance performance submitted to the EMSD.
As the test results of the following models did not meet the relevant energy efficiency and/or functional performance, the Department has decided to remove them from the register.

The EMSD pointed out that it has issued notices to the relevant importers, and the importers will publish notices in newspapers to inform the public that the products concerned will cease to be available in Hong Kong.
