Despite Hamas' threats to fire missiles at the center of the country if the flag parade takes place through the Nablus Gate, the defense establishment and the police are preparing to allow it to exist.

The Commissioner of Police, Chief of Staff Yaakov Shabtai, held a situation assessment today (Wednesday) ahead of the flagship parade expected on Sunday in Jerusalem. AGM, GSS, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other factors.

The commissioner ordered the police to be on high alert while reducing vacations and postponing courses and placing all Israeli police officers and fighters in operational activity.

In addition, it was decided to recruit 3 reserve companies from the Border Police and bring the reserve system into immediate alert.

At the same time, the police are carrying out extensive preventive activities in Jerusalem and beyond, with the arrest of dozens of suspects in incitement and planning to sabotage the parade.

In addition, the police make contact with persons who may disturb the order and warn them.

The emphasis in police activity is of course in the city of Jerusalem but also in other parts of the country including the mixed cities as well as increasing activity on the seam line and around Jerusalem, in the face of the illegal stay phenomenon and attempts to infiltrate the country.

"There will be no surrender or relinquishment"

As you may recall, last year missiles were fired even when the parade was diverted from its course.

A police source told Israel Today that "we are prepared for any scenario. The idea is to create a minimum of friction. We are prepared for the Temple Mount and do not expect disturbances on the mountain."

According to the source, even when the parade was diverted from the Nablus gate, the missiles were fired, so there will be no surrender or any waiver against the background of threats of escalation.

"It is important to preserve the parade in its format and not to get into a situation where if we are threatened we do not hold it."

As for the threats on MK Ben Gvir's life, the police will hold a situation assessment on Sunday, similar to any Knesset member who attends the parade.

Meanwhile, the police will also treat violators of Jewish order.

If there is intelligence about Jews intending to disrupt order, they will be treated.

Outline of the parade of flags

The traditional flag parade will be held for the 33rd time, from the center of Jerusalem to the Western Wall through the gates of the Old City and its alleys.

Police said that in contrast to false posts on the subject on social media, the parade will take place without entering the Temple Mount.

According to the outline agreed with the organizers, Am Kalbia, 8,000 people will pass through the Nablus Gate to the Western Wall, and 8,000 people will march through the Jaffa Gate to the Western Wall, and a total of up to 16,000 people will be able to stay at the Western Wall.

For the rest of the participants, main stages will be prepared at the foot of the wall.

During the hours of the march, the police will work to regulate the movement of pedestrians and vehicles in the area, and in particular near the Old City in order to prevent the conflict between the parties.

During the march, Muslim worshipers will be directed to the entrance to the Temple Mount through the northern gates, and the goal is to create a complete separation between the Muslims, as they will be at Sha'ar Sha'am and on Hagai Bouaka, the Western Wall, and the Jewish marchers.

The police call on the participants of the flag parade and the entire public to obey the instructions of the police, to refrain from any manifestation of physical and verbal violence and to allow the event to take place as an experience safely, and with full adherence to law and order.

Details of traffic arrangements during the flag parade on Sunday:

From 14:00 to 19:00, the following streets and the arteries leading to them will be closed to vehicular traffic: Bezalel, King George, Agron, Yitzhak Karib, King Solomon, Jerusalem Brigade, paratroopers, Haim Bar-Lev Engineering to the south, Sultan Suleiman in both directions .

The axes will open gradually, depending on the progress of the celebrants.

While dancing the flags, the light rail will not operate at stations near the IDF Square from both directions.

Also public transportation in the area will travel on alternate routes.
