The Electoral Council had asked the Registrar to hire an international auditing firm to provide more confidence in the results, after the problems that occurred with the pre-count and the scrutiny of the legislative elections on March 13.
Despite the fact that the Ministry of Finance issued a resolution on May 2 that guaranteed the disbursement of these resources, the times were very tight, the authorities indicated.

In addition, the Court decided to accept the recommendations made by the Colombian Attorney General's Office not to proceed with this contract, given that there is already a national contract with an auditing firm for the same purpose.
