After an aquaplaning accident, the A95 northbound had to be closed.

The accident driver (46) suffered serious injuries.

Münsing – There was another crash on the A95, according to a press report from the Weilheim Traffic Police Inspectorate (VPI), a 46-year-old driver was probably driving too fast in heavy rain.

As a result of aquaplaning, the man lost control of his company vehicle.

He crashed into the central barrier with the Daimler Vito and suffered serious injuries from the impact, but according to the VPI no life-threatening injuries.

The driver from the Bautzen district in Saxony was driving on the A95 in the direction of Munich at around 7.45 a.m. on Wednesday morning.

Between the junctions Penzberg/Iffeldorf and Seeshaupt, in the municipality of Münsing, the Vito lost traction on the rain-soaked road - "apparently due to improper speed," reports Chief Inspector Julius Metz.

The Daimler slammed against the central barrier and came to a stop there.

The seriously injured accident driver had to be taken to a clinic by the emergency services after first aid was given on site.

Metz: "A rescue helicopter, which had landed as a precaution, was able to turn away again." The passenger in the Vito, a 49-year-old, also from the district of Bautzen in Saxony, survived the accident with relatively minor injuries.

A95 strewn with debris over 200 meters

The company car was a total loss of around 15,000 euros.

The Daimler had to be towed.

In addition, several crash barrier fields were damaged, the replacement will cost around 6000 euros.

The road to the north was littered with vehicle debris over a length of around 200 meters.

The Starnberg road maintenance department cleaned the section of the route, which is why the lane in the direction of Munich had to be completely closed.

Traffic was diverted from the A95 at the Penzberg/Iffeldorf junction and routed via a detour route.

According to the Traffic Police Inspectorate, forces from the Beuerberg, Penzberg and Iffeldorf volunteer fire brigades were deployed.

The freeway was reopened around 10:15 a.m.

As reported, there had already been several aquaplaning accidents on the A95 on Monday.
