Beach of Saint-Nicolas des Glénan (Finistère)

Located about fifteen kilometers from the coast, the Glénan archipelago is a real paradise: it is said of its turquoise waters that they have nothing to envy to those of the tropics.

Because the local seaweed – called maërl – calcifies as it decomposes, taking on the appearance of dead coral.

You will have understood: the sand here is sparkling white, which makes the seabed translucent... Day visitors can only land on the tiny island of Saint-Nicolas, where you will discover, amazed, this magical beach: an immaculate sandbank joining the island of Bananec, at low tide only.

Rospico beach (Finistère)

The small cove of Rospico in Névez in southern Finistère is an absolute delight.

CRTB / Thibault PORIEL

It is part of the good plans that we pass on when we are “from the corner”.

Nestled between the rocky cliffs of Névez, just south of Pont-Aven, this small cove is an absolute delight.

You understand this as your feet sink into the golden sand, towards these shallow pools that delight children.

Its dimensions are out of the ordinary: 200 m deep and 40 m wide!

The color of the water is perfect, and the view breathtaking from the GR34 trail overlooking the beach.

Along with Port-Donnant beach, Herlin beach is one of the most famous in Belle-Île-en-Mer.

A heavenly fan of golden sand wedged between the green points of Grand Village and Saint-Marc, separated into two distinct beaches at very high tide, it is the unmissable meeting place for families.

You immediately fall under the spell of its clear waters, but be wary of the currents – but swimming is supervised in summer.

A real postcard!

Moreover, in Breton, “

” means “the land of the dune”: this immense family beach close to the ria d'Etel is part of a vast dune complex, the largest in Brittany.

Seabirds nest there, surfers and kite-surfers feast there, girlfriends chain sunbathing on the fine sand before throwing themselves into the rollers.

The Great Sands (Morbihan)

Grands-Sables beach at dusk.

CRTB / Nicolas-JOB

You have to travel four nautical miles (seven kilometers) at sea before you can spread out your towel on this amazing beach.

It is indeed at the eastern end of the island of Groix, whose tuna fishing has made it famous, that we discover this point of sand with unusual characteristics: the largest convex beach in Europe with its 800 m in length, it moves a few meters each year, depending on the interplay of tides, swells and currents.

Ultra-photogenic, it is bordered by lush greenery and transparent water.

How to get there ?
