Ettringen - Two old phosphorus bombs were found during dredging work in the southern area of Ettringen on Monday afternoon.
As reported by the Bad Wörishof police, these have already been removed.
According to the police report, the two explosive devices were about 50 centimeters long and already visibly rusted.
A danger to the surrounding residents could not initially be ruled out, explains a police spokesman.
In consultation with the explosive ordnance clearance service, residents within a radius of 50 meters had to leave their houses for around an hour and a half until the service could secure and remove the bombs without further incident.
The manager of the Ettringen building yard was also on site to provide support during the salvage.
