A special court headed by Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu, Rabbi Aharon Yirchi and Rabbi Reuven Nakar issued a particularly harsh verdict this afternoon (Thursday) against Moshe Yazdi, a community rabbi from Jerusalem who is accused of very serious sexual offenses, and ruled that he must be excommunicated for his actions.
These are acts that the prosecution defined in a serious indictment as "pure evil."
In the ruling, the rabbis wrote that this was "one of the most difficult cases that came before the court" and accused Moshe Yazdi of being "a rabbi and he really is a cult leader who sexually exploited many women, abused them and robbed them of their property."
The dayanim clarified that he was warned many years ago by two courts - the Badatz of the Haredi community and the court of Rabbi Yaakov Yosef, "and did not hear their voices."
"And already serious evidence of his adultery and wickedness came before the above courts, and he was convicted and at the height of his heart he disregarded the ruling of these two important courts and continued his evil deeds, and he was ostracized by the great men of Israel, among them Rabbi Moshe Tzedaka and Rabbi Yehuda Mualem Zatzokal.
The rabbis noted that they had now received many more complaints.
"A large number of new complaints have come to us, which have been most severely damaged by him," and therefore "it is an absolute duty to condemn him. Exiled to heaven and exiled to mankind. Sure. And he is merciful and will atone for sin. "
