The authorities in Burkina Faso announced that at least 50 civilians were killed in an attack carried out by unidentified gunmen in the east of the country.
And the Agence France-Presse quoted Colonel Hubert Yamyogo, governor of the eastern region, as saying in a statement that a number of residents of the besieged Madgwari area of terrorists were attacked by unidentified gunmen while they were trying to flee, adding that the inconclusive toll indicates the death of fifty people.
At least 11 civilians were killed yesterday in two armed attacks on two villages in northern Burkina Faso.
