The Forestry and Fire Monitoring Platform (Fermo) announced that limited areas of the southern forest sites of the eastern slopes of the coastal mountain range and sites of the forests north of Lattakia and Hama are affected today by a high level of fire risk, while the rest of the sites remain under the influence of the medium level.
The platform called on its Facebook page to refrain from starting any fires and to report any fire or smoke on the toll-free numbers 188 and 113, indicating that the maps are being prepared in cooperation with the General Directorate of Meteorology and the Forestry Directorate at the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform.
