After a break of about a year, accompanied by a long struggle led by the Minister of Immigration and Absorption, Pnina Temano, the aliyah from Ethiopia is renewed.

Next week, close to Jerusalem Day, Operation Tzur Israel will resume, bringing 3,000 more immigrants from Ethiopia to Israel under a government decision in November 2021, led by Tamano Sheta and Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked.

The second phase of Operation Tzur Yisrael to continue raising 3,000 first-degree family members, waiting in the Gondar and Addis Ababa aliyah camps, is underway.

This coming Tuesday, a special delegation headed by Minister Tamano Sheta will leave for Ethiopia, including the chairman of the World Zionist Organization and the acting chairman of the Jewish Agency, Yaakov Hagoel, and senior representatives of the Jewish federations in North America, Keren Hayesod, the World Zionist Organization and the Friendship Fund. To the great aliyah operation.

Accompanied by the special delegation, the first immigrant flight will land next Wednesday, which will include about 180 immigrants, who will fulfill their dream and after many years of waiting and be reunited with their families.

Minister of Immigration and Absorption, Pnina Temano Sheta, said: "I am happy that after months of long struggles, which included a budget struggle, a government decision and a victory in the High Court, immigration from Ethiopia is renewed.

This is a continuation of the journey to redress the injustice done to many families among Ethiopian Jews and as I promised I will not leave anyone behind.

This is a very important moment for thousands of families and for me as well.

I will fly myself to Ethiopia to welcome the immigrants and return with them to Israel. '

The chairman of the World Zionist Organization and the chairman of the Jewish Agency, Yaakov Hagoel, said that "thousands of new immigrants from Ethiopia will be able to fulfill their dream and unite with their relatives in Israel after many years of waiting."

These days, all Israeli aliyah elements working for the aliyah and absorption of those waiting, including the Ministry of Aliyah and Absorption, the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Jewish Agency, are preparing for the implementation and speedy implementation of the government's decision to raise 3,000 pioneers in Ethiopia.

It will be recalled that in the first phase of Operation Tzur Israel, 2,000 new immigrants immigrated to Israel.

The task of flying the immigrants to Israel and preparing them for life in Israel was entrusted to the Jewish Agency in coordination with the Ministry of Immigration and Absorption.

This is a complex operation, which includes activities in the humanitarian field among the waiting community in Ethiopia, among other things through medical guidance and a daily feeding program for children and pregnant and breastfeeding women which was held with the help of donations from Jewish federations in North America, Keren Hayesod.

Immediately after landing, the immigrants will enter isolation in accordance with the procedure for the arrival of immigrants from around the world and then reunite with their families waiting for them in Israel.

Prior to their arrival, the Ministry of Aliyah and Absorption and the Jewish Agency established five new absorption centers in order to provide immigrants with the envelope and guidance in all areas of life, for learning Hebrew and preparing for their integration into employment and the Israeli education system.
