Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin welcomed, in an interview with Le
Parisien
, the decision of the administrative court of Grenoble which suspended this Wednesday, May 25 the provision authorizing the wearing of the burkini in the municipal swimming pools of Grenoble.

He denounces "
behind the decision of the municipal council
", the role of the "
very active community association, the
Citizen Alliance" which campaigned for the authorization of the burkini.
According to the Minister of the Interior, it is the law on separatism which allowed such a decision by the Grenoble administrative court.

In the interview, Gérald Darmanin praises the merits of this legislative text which will also make it possible, according to him, to "
study by all the prefects the local subjects which may exist
" so that "
any deliberation contrary to secularism (either ) brought before the administrative tribunal
”.
